After grooving with a fan-shaped knife, certain indentations are created on the cardboard. The main function of these indentation lines is to make the corrugated cardboard accurately bend according to the predetermined position to achieve the inner size of the carton.
The blade materials most commonly used in the machinery knife industry are roughly divided into four types: cemented carbide (TC), high speed steel (HSS), Cr12mov (D2, also known as SKD11), and 9CrSi. In general, the choice of common blade materials has its industry conventions. For example, large round knives are suitable for Cr12mov material, and fan-shaped knives (also called slotted knives) are suitable for 9CrSi and D2 materials. Small round knives are most commonly used for high-speed steel materials, but D2 and 9CrSi materials are also used a lot. These corresponding suitable materials are the most cost-effective while maintaining good use results.
